I personally have always been facinated by space. Here is something interesting:
NASA discovered on the 7th of this month that way out yonder some 40 to 50 million light years (1 light year is about 10 trillion km) away in the constellation of Canes Venetici is a pair of interacting galaxies sometimes referred to as "The Cocoon". These two mis-shaped blobs of cosmic stuff have already made their closest approach to each other and are now parting ways. Between them stretches a trail of stars that spans some 24,000 light years as they face each other showing off their numerous star-forming regions.

If all that went way over your head, it's alright! What is facinating is that space is so vast and so complex with the many different things happening all over and yet we humans seem like an integral part of it, even though we may just be like a spec of dust on a beach of sand.
When staring into the night sky, one cannot help but wonder how magnificent it is and how mind boggling it is that we humans are somehow "taken care off" in a vast universe of chaotic events where we seem as insignificant as anything imaginable.
The Bible says in the book of Amos 5 verse 8 that, "He made Pleiades and Orion. He turns the shadow of death into morning." Isn't it amazing that the names of these star clusters and constellations have already been mentioned way before scientists actually crowned them with these names?
The next time the you are under open skies, take a minute and look up, observe and ask yourself if you are thankful that there is someone looking out for you, as tiny and insignificant as you might seem to be!
Do you like stargazing? What do you think or feel like when looking up into the night sky? And more than anything, do you feel a sense of comfort while you're at it?
Let me know.
